Mayfest application open for Youth Art Gallery

The University of Tulsa has opened applications for the 2024 Mayfest Youth Art Gallery. Visual artists in grades K-12 in the 2023-24 school year can apply to have their work displayed in TU’s 101 Archer building during Mayfest 2024.

Mayfest has been a beloved Tulsa event for more than 50 years, showcasing the city's vibrant art, music and culture and highlighting artists from Oklahoma and beyond in a multitude of artistic disciplines.

Julie Carson, the committee chair for Mayfest Kids’ World and Youth Art Gallery, said she is excited for Mayfest to display art by students from across the Tulsa area.

"Mayfest stands as Tulsa's grandest annual homage to art, providing a perfect stage for the vibrant talents of both established and budding artists still honing their craft within our K-12 educational institutions,” Carson said. "Mayfest is proud this year to devote an entire floor of the 101 Archer Arts and Humanities building in the Tulsa Arts District to showcase the incredible works created by talented K-12 students. Additionally, we're thrilled to offer hands-on activities and crafts at Mayfest, ensuring a delightful experience for children of all ages."

The Youth Art Gallery application is open until April 1, 2024. Parents and teachers can apply on behalf of students here.
