Kaitlin Butts

Saturday, May 10, 5:30 p.m., Main stage @ Guthrie Green

Website | Spotify

Kaitlin Butts has a deep affinity for country music’s more theatrical side: the extravagant storytelling, dazzling showmanship, songs embedded with both unbridled emotion and quick-fire humor. After discovering her passion for performing as a little girl, the Tulsa native brought her boundless energy and radiant voice to her own unapologetic yet soulful songwriting. She has recently tour with Dierks Bentley, Lainey Wilson, Turnpike Troubadours, and Morgan Wade. Her song “Hunt You Down” marks a major tonal shift from Butts’ 2022 sophomore LP “what else can she do,” a character-driven exploration of complex matters like addiction, domestic violence, and generational trauma.

Faith-based singer/songwriter Madison Ryann Ward, an Oklahoma native, mixes mature pop and contemporary R&B with accents of gospel, blues, and folk. After she made her commercial debut with the Rex Rideout collaboration “Mirror” in 2018, Ward continued the next year with “Beyond Me,” a four-track EP featuring the equally lean and soulful ballad “BRKN.” She has since established herself as an independent artist with her own Zelda House Records, issuing a slew of singles including “Higher,” “Player,” “Love&Adoration,” and “Anchor” before making her full-length debut with “A New Thing” in 2023.
